Highlights
Create your own pottery at the renowned Arita town, the birthplace of pottery. Delight in the Michelin-awarded homestyle Soba noodles served by the pottery workshop.
Details
Pick up the guest from any city location of Fukuoka in the morning.
Travel to Arita, renowned as the birthplace of Japanese pottery, and immerse yourself in the rich historical culture of Kyushu. The region is home to numerous traditional pottery workshops, many of which have been family-owned for centuries. In the morning, you'll participate in a pottery class led by a master in his own studio. This is a unique and exclusive opportunity provided by our travel agency, as few others can establish the connections needed to arrange even a visit to these local pottery artisans.

The pottery manufacturer's workshop includes the production area, a shop featuring various pottery items, and, most unexpectedly, a Michelin-starred Soba restaurant.
The class comprises both a theory session and pottery-making activities. During the theory session, the owner will discuss the history of Arita pottery and his own work, which continues a 400-year legacy of technological innovation. The pottery-making session lasts 3-4 hours, during which each participant receives 1kg of clay, enough to create three pottery pieces such as a cup, jar, plate, or any other creative item, provided that the master can assist in its production. Once you have finished shaping your pottery, you will leave your creations at the workshop for firing, a process that takes 2-3 weeks. Your finished items will be sent to you by mail.

You will have the chance to enjoy his Michelin-awarded Soba noodles for lunch.

Post-lunch, unwind with a coffee made using pottery from this shop. The combination of the water, pottery, and the traditional wooden house featuring a Zen garden offers a unique coffee experience.

Following the coffee break, we will take you to a different pottery shop that showcases another pottery-making technique: pottery painting. You'll be amazed by the wide range of items available in various colors, designs, and shapes. While you shop for pottery, you can also enjoy Japanese tea freshly prepared by the shop owner.

Bring home your cherished pottery creations or purchases directly from their source, along with a unique and delightful experience you can proudly share with friends time and again throughout your life.
We will conclude the unforgettable tour and drop you off at any location within Fukuoka city.
